Aah, shit, I know many people say this but I can honestly tell you, i've been there. Comedy (especially watching two silly men bickering like L&W) is definitely a way to escape for a little while.
It's not easy, but it DOES get better. I hope you find the strength to recover. Take care.

I know exactly how you feel! Back in December 2004 I had a pretty big and rather painful operation in hospital, and when I was discharged and came home I was given the Lano & Woodley series on dvd as a coming out of hospital present - I had to spend the next 2-3 weeks bedbound recovering, and that whole time was spent watching Lano & Woodley - those episodes I hadnt seen for years since they were last aired on the abc which was in the early naughties i think .. i laughed so much i recovered really really quickly! YAY!

That's really great that they've helped you on your way to recovery. I have a similiar story too, I have depression and in 2004 it was the worst it had been and I got pretty much suicidal, and it was at the point where I got to seriously contemplating it when I found out the guys were coming near my home town to do a gig and I was able to see them and meet them for the first time. It pretty much turned things around for me and showed me that great things can be lurking around the corner. I just think, "what if I had done it? I would've missed out on such a great moment. " So yeah, I can say the same as you, they pretty much saved my life too. Anyways enough of my life story , good luck on your road to a happy and healthier life

Fuck man im so happy you found a pathway out of the dangerous and life threatening path you were leading. (wow that sounded like some sort of swearing Christian statement weird). Im very proud. Anorexia is one of the worst mental diseases someone can possible get, cause not only are u abusing ur mind, but also ur body. How thin did u get??? If u dont mind me asking. I saw an article about this girl with anorexia and she was 5'6 and weighted 22kgs. now that is very very very light. Laughter is the best medicine and if it was ur scapegoat, then im proud and would shake u by the hand. (sends virtual hug!!!!)
And dont ever think that you will never meet the people on this forum. It was only the other week that Kirri, Liz, Ness, Amba, myself and a couple of others made the trip from all over australia to Melbourne to see Lano and woodley and id have to say it was one of the best trips ive ever taken in my short life. Meeting people uve only talked to on the internet or the occasional text message is the most amazing thing in the world. You know so much about this person, and yet you know soooo little.
Comedy is a very big factor in my depression and without my frequent trips to see a comedy show whether its a local act at The Rhino Room or a internation act at the festival theatre, it all helps in the long run. Never lose confidence in yourself, and remember there are heaps of people who can help you, including everyone at this forum. Even though this is only a virtual relationship, you've never met, heard, seen or spoken to us in person, feel free to speak of ur problems and we may b able to help. Its helped me, espcially getting some of the shithouse thngs in my life off my chest, even if it is just bitching on the mental health thread. It helps just to have someone there who will listen, even if they dont reply, theyve read ur problems and thought about it.
In the end, some people believe that you only have one chance at life. I believe in reincarnation, but i believe that you been given the gift of life in this wonderful country as a human and that is nothing to be laughed at or wasted. Life to the max and never hold back.

So glad Lano & Woodley gave you hope and joy
