So you guys. Housemeeting. I think we need a plan to get it republished. But to do so, I'm going to need help. We've got the old petition. We have the address and phone number of Penguin publishers. We have access to the internet and can therefore spread the word around. All we need now is the motivation and hard work. It won't be 'easy' but it can most likely be done. And even if we can't actually get it published, perhaps we'll find more fans to hang out with at the forum, at the very least. So nothing bad will come of our efforts.
So, how to do it. Publishers get interested to republish things when there's a demand for it. When they think it will be profitable. This means that we have to prove that there is a demand, which means, contacting the publishers. It also means drumming up MORE demand, and therefore more people to tell the publisher that there is a demand. We have to get the word out about Lano and Woodley, and the fact that the book exists and that it is fantastic. We have to convert people to lano and woodley, and we have to make sure that people know the book is worth reading. Get people excited.
This is going to take time. And I cannot do it alone.
Who is with me? I suggest that we discuss good ways of doing this before we jump in, so that this way we get the best effect.
Some things that we can do:
Go around the internet hyping up the book and Lano and Woodley, or even just mentioning them as much as possible. We can discuss ways of doing that.
Phone the publishers asking.
Write to the publishers and ask. (ask if they're going to do it/when they're going to do it, tell them that you'd LOVE to see it done, and why, and tell them how much money people are spending on the book, proving how much people want it. Tell them about the popularity of lano and woodley)
Get more people to sign the petition.
Send the publishers the petition.
Get more people back to these forums, so that we have more people to help us (and just to hang out and be fannish with)
Get publicity for the book, either online or in real life.
I think if we all make some sort of effort, we might have a chance.
