Yup, they mention in the Starquest commentary that the credits were filmed in St. Kilda, and that the overhead shot at the end was filmed from atop a government housing building.

I know a few fans have actually been to the Tropicana block. We'll be doing a mad location hunt when we're in Melbourne for the final shows, which should be great fun! I wanna find the pool and do a bellywhacker - well, a pretendy bellywhacker! I might see if Jeremy Kewley (the game show host) would be willing to drop by one of the locations for a bit of behind-the-scenes storytelling...

I know the studio is the ABC stuido at Elsenwick, no idea how far it is though. The pool is in st kilda-Barry holt pool The restrant in Mother is in Williamstown-we all HAVE to go and have lobster, and see if we can swivel on teh counter like frank did lol The bit in One simple task where frank runs away into that alley way, the bit where col spots frank running up there is apparently in South Yarra-you can see the street name if you zoom in. And the alley way i saw on Blue heelers a few wks ago, and its in Williamstown- a girl from teh BH forum is going to get back to me. Um the church i dont know where that is, but will find out, but it was also in the inner sanctuary (col's movie) the hospital-ive had a few ideas-like Frankston (too far) or Werribee-more liekly cause its the same one used in Kath adn kim The building for Mother is the Royal exhibition building in the city. We also have to go along teh Nepean Hwy to find that spa store that was in kath and kim, and festival hall. Also col's old place is not too far from the flats. The

Methinks WhereIs will come in handy to plan this location hunt. We'd have to look at public transport too, seeing as many of us will be flying in and thus don't have cars. Don't forget your cameras and your cossies for the pool, children!

Well, in The Girlfriend you see Col round a corner after leaving Tropicana - which you can see behind him. Then a sign appears beside him - "2 Marriott Street". So that means Tropicana is either ON or NEXT TO Marriott Street.

Marriott St is a dead end st, so its argyle st, which junctions with Chapel St. So when we've finish gawking at the flats, we can head up chapel st and have a latte....

Cuase ive also seen him on Blue Heelers (he was the newspaper reporter guy). Jeremy Kewley? It's always worth asking. It depends if he's in Melbourne at the time! I know him because I assisted him in a Celebrity Challenge he did for the Shootout 24-Hour Filmmaking Festival, back in '03. He's a really nice chap, and very funny! But, which location would be best to propose as a meeting point? If not a location, then a cafe`...?

Ooh, I just had a thought ( yippee! *throws confetti*) - the Melbourne Cup is happening that week. The main event is on Tuesday and there'll be other events running throughout that week. See here. Methinks i'll be making my flight/accom bookings sooner rather than later, in case everything's booked out.

Yeah i think we should better book accomodation now.
Ok so those who are coming to Melbourne and are prepared to stay in Hotel Bakpak...its not the closest one to the Regent but who cares we'll be on a high all night walking up to the hostel lol, plus we can get the tram probably..
Um yeah those who are coming send me a PM with your name and dates that you are going and how long you are likely to stay.
Im sure airfares can wait till later. I certainly dont have the money at the moment.

well ill have a mellochino with skinny milk and decaf with only pink marshmellows and one sugar. The milk has to be free range gluten free and the decaf must be from Bangeldesh. The milk must be exactly 150degrees C and i expect it to be in a glass not a mug. I want cabarys chocolate and lots of it. I wont have it any other way. (believe it or not, we get people this picky at the coffee club. KILL)
Hehehehe Protection hey. phew sounds rude.
